Born in 1963 in Kunming, Yunnan, Li Ji studied printmaking at the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts (graduated in 1987) and later at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (in 1990). Today he works in the fine arts department of the Yunnan Academy of Fine Arts.
