Wang Xiao has been engaged in the research and practice of Chinese culture and Chinese art since the 1990s. He served as Art Consultant for the Thirty Years of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Ink Painting special auctions at Beijing Poly International Auction Co., Ltd.

He curated a series of exhibitions on modern and traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting, as well as contemporary Chinese art, including Scattered Treasures Collection: Special Exhibition of Li Keran, Scattered Treasures Collection: Special Exhibition of Qi Baishi, Scattered Treasures Collection: Special Exhibition of Jiang Hongwei, Chen Ping and Tian Liming, Notes Among Flowers: Zhou Chunya, and brocade Melody: Wang Yabin.

He has compiled and published more than 20 monographs and series publications, such as Scattered Treasures Collection, Classic Collections of Chinese Calligraphers and Painters, Documents of 20th-Century Western-Style Chinese Painting, and Index of Artists in Secret Palace Pearl Forest & Complete Collection of the Stone Canal Treasury.
